Pratiche di carbon-farming contro il cambiamento climatico: le risposte dal LIFE C-FARMs
Il principale obiettivo dell’azione coordinata da CMCC (La fondazione Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici) nell’ambito del progetto LIFE C-FARMs è identificare il potenziale di sequestro di carbonio da parte di pratiche di carbon-farming implementate o potenzialmente implementabili del contesto agricolo e pedo-climatico Lombardo.

L’obiettivo del lavoro svolto dal CREA è stato principalmente quello di identificare un insieme di dati statistici e geospaziali sui quali caratterizzare le pratiche di carbon farming applicate dalle aziende agricole e il relativo potenziale di mitigazione dei cambiamenti climatici in Lombardia, regione oggetto di studio del progetto LIFE C-FARMs.

Quadro normativo e sistema di supporto alla certificazione del carbonio
Nell’agosto 2022 grazie al coordinamento di PEFC Italia è iniziata l’azione A5 del progetto LIFE C-FARMs reperendo i dati delle precedenti azioni A1, A2 e A3 ai fini della redazione di uno schema della certificazione del Carbon Farming. L'obiettivo finale è un modello di applicazione volontaria che genererà introiti aggiuntivi e contributi integrativi per gli agricoltori, grazie a un'interfaccia di pagamento degli incentivi determinata a livello nazionale.
